
The Korea Seed & Variety Service is a subsidiary organization under the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries(MIFAFF) in the Korean government.
It holds a Headquarters and 8 Provincial Offices.
The headquarters of the Korea Seed & Variety Service consist of four Divisions such as General Service Division, Seed Marketing Division, Plan variety Protection Division and Variety Testing Division. Three of the seven Provincial Offices such as Dongbu, Seobu, and Gyeongnam Provincial offices handle field testing for plant varieties protection. They con-tain about 10. 7ha of field trial area and about 17.576§³ of green house area. Six of the Provincial Offices such as Gangwon, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam Provincial Offices deal with the production and distribution of certified seeds. Each office has its own facilities for seed processing and storage.
Gyeongnam Provincial offices has services for both of the field testing and the production and distribution of certified seeds.
